MAMMOTH SPRING RETAIL

The cornerstone to Mammoth Springs, located at the corner of Main Street and Pewaukee Road, which serves as the visual entrance gateway into the Village of Sussex, is the Mammoth Springs Retail. Two mixed-use buildings which feature ground level retail and second level office space flank a stone wall enclosed corner plaza with curved pergola and central firepit to provide an engaging active public space while transitioning the steep grade change around the corner. The New Urbanism placement of these buildings serves to create a strong building line along the street edge while screening the internal parking. The architecture of these buildings are integrate the Mammoth Springs “Arts and Crafts” influenced design theme with flat roofs, horizontal siding with a complementary awning accent color while incorporating stone columns and the corner plaza wall that recalls the prevalent native lannon stone that was quarried from the site.
